LINQ goes Canada – IMPRINT Session at INMIS 2019 in Vancouver, Canada

On 17 September 2019 the LINQ team attended the IMPRINT network session at the 5th International Maternal and Neonatal Immunisation Symposium (INMIS) in Vancouver, Canada.

The session was organized by LINQ and brought together 70 IMPRINT awardees, network PIs, members and other interested experts in the field to discuss the progress the network has made in the last two years. IMPRINT is funded by the UK’s Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) and connects scientists, researchers, industry and other stakeholders focusing on maternal and neonatal immunisation.

The meeting commenced with a warm welcome by the PIs Beate Kampmann, and Chrissie Jones followed by an introduction to the network by Claudia Schacht. During the meeting, four fellows and ten pump-priming awardees presented on the progress of their projects, followed by a public engagement project presentation, which was part of a new IMPRINT funding scheme.

An additional presentation was given on The Vaccine Confidence Project, which is monitoring vaccine confidence across media & social media, utilizing machine learning, digital analytics and confidence mapping.

Another highlight was the dinner cruise networking event that took place on the previous evening. 25 IMPRINT members enjoyed impressive views of the Vancouver skyline and the opportunity to engage with fellow experts.LINQ was elated that both events were well-attended, encouraged discourse and gave attendees the opportunity to network.IMPRINT was recently awarded a one-year no-cost extension by the MRC and will officially run until the end of May 2021.
