On the way towards a successor programme to EDCTP2 under the umbrella of the next European Framework programme for research and innovation, Horizon Europe (2021-2027), the European Commission published an outline of its plan for the next EDCTP programme on 30 July 2019. Michael Makanga, EDCTP Executive Director, encouraged all EDCTP stakeholders – in Europe, Africa and elsewhere – to take this early opportunity to make their voices heard and give feedback on this initiative which will be developed into the successor programme to EDCTP2. The Road map for the ‘EU-Africa Global Health Partnership (Horizon Europe programme)’ is open to feedback until 27 August 2019. Feedback can be given here and will be taken into account for further development and fine-tuning of the initiative. The Commission will summarize the input received in a report explaining how the input will be taken on board and, if applicable, why certain suggestions can’t be taken up. Feedback received will be published on the European Commission website and therefore must adhere to the feedback rules.
