The ‚European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership‘ aims to support collaborative research that accelerates the clinical development of new or improved interventions to prevent or treat HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and other poverty-related infectious diseases, including neglected infectious diseases and emerging or re-emerging infectious diseases, prevalent in sub-Saharan Africa.

The current second EDCTP programme is supported under Horizon 2020, the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research & Innovation, and executed through partnerships between European and African institutions and researchers in collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry and like-minded organisations.
